Well, you can be pretty sure the know not what they do. At it's core, forgiveness is just a decision. Decide to forgive, decide to let go. Have you even been thinking of going something but kept putting it off... then one day you just decide to do it and it's a done deal. Forgiveness is sometimes preached but seldom exercised.
When the twin towers came down I say a wonderful opportunity for Bush to forgive the perpetrators. If he really wanted power that was a platinum opportunity to be be a Gandi to the universe. He professed to be a Christian didn't he? He missed his bit opportunity.
So, if Christ was real (I ain't too sure about that) at least while he was having spike and spears driven into he, he was seeking forgiveness in his own way... hell of an example to us all really.
Society doesn't teach forgiveness so you are going to have to learn about it yourself. Start with something very small, take a deep breath. Say, ''I forgive you, and to the degree that I can't let go of this I also forgive myself''. Breath out and sense the subtle feeling. You might find, as I did years ago, that it feels quite pleasant, almost euphoric. You might also notice that forgiving has a much larger feeling that wanting revenge. It makes one feel more embracing.
My father used to say that there were big people and small people in this world, and it has nothing to do with physical size.
Look and see..
love ya, Jed.
P.S. The bigger you are, the bigger will be those draw to you.
