Getting out of trauma
« on: July 06, 2018, 11:23:27 am »
Hello Jed,

could you please give me an advice on breaking out of the effect of trauma(s)? I'm talking about repeated traumas, over the years whose effects won't abate with meditation or reading your or any other spiritual books. and yes I know it's all fake, but the effect lingers, and it's making me attached to certain humans, and I know it's silly, but I have a frequent fear they'll get tired of me, that they'll abandon me. and yes, I know, they're fake, I'm fake, and full of fear but knowing on rational level doesn't help.  I want to break free.

Are you talking about specific traumatic events or just a general feeling of trauma?

Cheers.

Specific traumatic events.

Being abused by parents, being rejected by peers (i'm somewhere on the autistic spectrum), then developing all kind of diseases as a consequence, escaping home, and desperately trying to find some security.

how do i explain my brain that there is no security in people? it's like it's clinging to the mere idea of humanity. and yes, meditation helps a bit, and all that spiritual stuff, but not for long, I can't escape flashbacks and then acting upon them.

what would you do if you were in my position?

How about writing me at cambodianashram@gmail.com.

I think some private communication may be appropriate.

Love ya, Jed.
