You are looking for something to be the way you expect it to be... but you have no way of knowing how it is. Expectation that something is this way or that are sufficient to block the view of what is. I grant you that I, and others, set you up for such expectations, but in a way the are only to get you started on you specific journey. They are a number of ''route'' up every mountain, but only one peak and that is what we all seek in our own way. What worked for me might not work for you. To see the path more clearly, drop expectations as best you can. Just let it all be as it appears to be and never, ever believe it.

Well I can’t see that it’s all one thing but the pretty constant experience now that thoughts and feelings are objective and viewed by my true self is helpful. Once I get to involved in the human game that knowing that I’m watching it seems to pop up and the tension kind of releases or kind of clears so that’s pretty decent. Not sure how to go further yet but it seems likely that something will come up which sends me forward.

It's pretty much about just getting out of the way.

When you first started having this happen Did you have moments where you could step out of human mode and be in the shell of consciousness? I’ve been aware of non duality for like 20 years and I’m 36 now. In the past year I’ve had the big woke moments a few times but lately it’s been like little brief flashes of stepping out of everything. Then i go back to human mode and feel kind of refreshed. It’s all just experience at these points and I know I’ve got further to go or rather further will happen. But I’m interested if this was something that happened to “you”

I had those kinds of experience a long time ago, but don't worry about my experiences. Focus on yours. Who is having them?

So there is the apparent life dream and the apparent human bodymind within that dream has no free will. Thoughts just pop in based on what happened prior to the last thought.
Then there is consciousness or an aware blank state that the human dream appears within.
And without that aware/conscious state there is an indescribable prior to manifest nothingness that is; or rather isn’t present when consciousness is not manifesting.
So that’s it?
Apart from deep sleep, anaesthesia or death can the final state be abided in?
How can consciousness ever abide in the prior to manifest state?
If the ultimate state is the unconscious prior to manifest state then (if this is really realised) why don’t the Truth Realised just stop eating and die?
If I’m right about this being the nature of reality then right now it seems futile and bleak beyond words.

Dark Night of the Soul... very good indicator of progress. The final ''state'' is not a state at all. You are view this from mind, and that's the problem, not the solution.

But if the manifest is what my mind and senses are perceiving then how can the no state be achieved? How can consciousness become prior to that?

Actually it's not like that at all, you don't sense anything. Perceiving occurs but there is no perceiver as you think of it. Perceiving is happening but it's being done by what I might describe as a universal awareness.

Also, nothing is ever achieved, but achieving does appear to occur.

Forget about reasoning you way through this maze... it has never worked. You must go beyond reasoning.

Then that sounds like there is nothing my mind can do about it. No preparation or knowledge could of ever make what you describe happen. It almost sounds like an involuntary physiological change. Like having a stroke. So guess I just have to sit around in my free willl less movie hoping that the universe decides to pop my ego. Pity I keep forgetting that it is just a movie and keep going back into the desired game. But then again knowing the truth all the time but not having the ego Center drop would be a living hell.

I’m not sure im smart enough to understand you. Consciousness to me is the thing all this phenomena is happening in. Without consciousness how could anything happen. But if somehow I’m prior to consciousness then I’m just the nothing that happens in death or prior to coming online at two years old or when I’m under anaesthetic or in deep sleep. But then I’m not there and there is nothing. So how could a human ever be that whilst physically awake?

Understanding is the booby prize and T/R doesn't take a particularly strong intellect. In reality, that can be a hindrance to realizing your True Nature.

Who I thought I was for all these years is just phenomena in the manifest stuff. Who I really am is what it all occurs in. Done for now unless the old habits confuse everything. Very clear at the moment.
