How to wake up
« on: October 05, 2017, 05:31:49 am »
Hello Jed McKenna, I want to say that your first book “Damnedest thing”, has waked me up, thanks for telling the truth! I am selling all my other self-help books, you waked me up on, how all gurus just cheat on people. I have understood your material, I just still do not know how I can change my dream as you mention in the book. What I mean is: “change my life for better”, as it is hell right now. I understand that we are responsible for the life we have. I do not know what to do. You mention Zen, “The real Zen” that is made to wake people up, but where can I read about it, some books you can recommend about “The real Zen?” You also mention the universe will bring whatever you want in the long run, how can I do it? How can I practice to change my dream/reality? Meditation or etc.? I know that every therapy is today bullshit, and only made to make money. I really want to do anything to change my bad dream.

Edit
You recommend a book on yoga and The Real Zen, is there any books about these topics that truly say how to practice it?

Thank You.
Best Regards Johnny

Thanks Jed Mckenna. I appreciate your book, you and your help!

I just took a look on this guy, i heard a bit about him before. I am interested to read about his material. But what book is good? I do not want a book that is supposed to be his words but isn't. I see the most popular book about him is "I am That" is that book fine you think?

Again, thanks for your help.

Best Regards Johnny

Hey, Again Jed Mckenna it has been some time. And I must admit that this book is very good man, i read half of the book already. I begin to understand this all. Nisargadatta says to stay on "I am" and the rest will happen. I have tried to meditate on it etc, and I must say things are changing. I cut off all thoughts and stay on "I am". I am more positive i can stay out of bed instantly early in the morning, talk will people with confidence. The fear i had around people got smaller, i never felt so good before! By the way Nisargadatta mentions about yoga. And i researched it a bit, and it seems that Jnana yoga is one of the best to get out of the sleep. In Jnana yoga, you practice the so-called "Netti Netti". My problem is that Nisargadatta book is not really practical. I want to learn this netti netti jnana yoga thing. It is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita, but it's a story, and i need a more practical reading. Do you know any book that truly explains practically these yoga methods? And are not translated by people asleep? BEcause you mention in the start in your first book, that the newest Bghavad gita etc is translated by people in sleep. Which translations are translated by not sleeping people and explain this yoga?

Thank you very much for the help Mckenna!

Nis instructions from his guru was very simple. I think you are looking for complexities. That's what the mind does. Just stay with the I am as best you can for a year or two. What could be more simple?

Yeah, you are right, the ego is playing with me. But the thing is how do I do it. Do i just ignore all my thoughts and just repeat in my head "I am, I am, I am" and stop visualizing things?. Then what do i d,o to change the dream as you mention the book? Nisargadatta says that i need to change the film of the cinema and not attacking the cinema screen. But i can't do it when i focus on I am?

This is the last thing I do not understand now.

Thank you

No, it's not the last thing you don't understand, there are a zillion things that you don't understand. The good news is that this is not about understanding, forget it. Just contemplate ''I am'' and quit messing around with your need to understand. DO IT... then we'll talk. Your trying to understand is a total waste of time and energy.

Love ya, Jed.

I finally think got it, I read the chapters again and again last day, and I got it. There is nothing to do or understand. I simply remind my self of "I am" and feel my presence. No thoughts and so on. When I do this I feel liberated, just feel so free. Now I understand what zen and yoga is about an so on. I begin to get all this.

But as I see this is the same as in Taoism the Wui Wei (non-action) "he truly wise don't seem to do much at all and yet achieve whatever they want. This magic is possible, indeed unavoidable, when one is in tune with the Tao and acts without attachments." This gives a good sense in your book that the "The Universe will give you everything you want" I just need to stay on "I am" and let things flow.

This is not aquestion about understanding, but am I on the right track to wake up?

But daym, 2 years to remove my self from all my beliefs and my ego. Long journey, but at least I will be awake and free!

Thanks Jed Mckenna!

Now i Lova ya!

Well since I wanted to change my life/dream, I tried every therapy, and after buying books on magick, i understanded that every therapy is bullshit. I have maybe spent about 3 years on trying unsuccessfully to change my dream/life.

But why are you asking this question am I completely on the wrong track? You even recommend "Tao Te Ching" in your book and that is exactly what I tried to explain in my earlier post.

No book is a substitute for your own experience and when you realize that no experience is yours... it's just a happening.... you are very close.

Now, go to your experiences and do your best to not interpret or understand them. This is called ''direct experience". Not easy but doable.

Love ya, Jed.

Thanks for your message Jed Mckenna.

Sorry if am asking too much, I have a difficulty grasping this, but I found something in Sri Nisargadatta's book that hopefully says the same, what you try to say is?
"By giving attention to your living, feeling and thinking, you free yourself from them and go beyond them. Your personality dissolves and only the witness remains. Then you go beyond the witness"

Sorry, and thanks for all the help.

Best Regards
Math

Thanks Jed really thanks! I have done this "I am" a bit of time and i feel somehow better. I have found how that the "I am" technique was developed by gurdjieff. He also say that i can use the sentence "This is a dream, this is a dream".

So to have it 100% right, so i do not waste my time and stay in the dream. I need to basiclly detach from my thoughts, feelings etc, by staying into "I am" or "this is a dream" and slowly detach from the dream.

Best Regards
