Hi CE:

Thank you for your question, but I am afraid your mind will not like the answer, but here ya go.

It is neither one nor the other, and yet it is also both, all at the same time. You are speaking of mental constructs and definitions, usually out of a desire to understand or control. If you seriously seek T/R you must give up on both. They have never brought anyone to the end point, at least in my observations and experience.

I welcome more questions from you, if you are so inclined.

Love ya, Jed.

The question assumes an independent, functioning ‘you’. Who are ‘you’ really?

Very few teachers seem to say this.  The only others I can recall are Ramesh Balsekar and Werner Erhard.  Direct observation and contemplation on this topic years ago recognized a thought that this makes sense.

I Spiritual Warfare, you called Bob out on the fact that he said he was a practitioner of self-inquiry, when he really was just someone who read some Ramana Maharshi and followed his teachings.  I had a similar experience with an organization that actually taught self-inquiry in the Ramana style and even has an ashram in India.   What I found was that some of the people that had been with the organization for many years had not actually practiced self inquiry except during meditation.  Ramana explicitly taught to ask "who am I" with every thought that rises.  Not as a mantra, but to bring one into the direct experience of baffling the hell out of the mind until it stops generating thought and one experiences life as the watcher of the thoughts.  Long winded answer to saying that is my practice along with the sense that EVERY thought is to be questioned or, when I'm really experiencing silence, discarded.

I understand exactly what you are saying, however, I would suggest that ''discard'' is and action and just another thought. Try you best to see through thoughts, to understand their transient by strangely loving nature. They are crying out for your attention. Give them that and they settle right down, it's quite surprising. Fighting/discarding, etc... nah.. not ideal.

Keep it up... do you work, sounds like you are pretty intuitive re the NABS.

Love ya, Jed

When I'm doing spiritual autolysis, I get stuck on 'energy', since energy cannot be created or destroyed, its either infinite and is therefore synonyms with consciousness, or energy is just another illusion. Cant seem to figure it out.

Hi Serious (Sirius):

Welcome to the forum. You are stuck because it's a lie. Where on earth did you get the idea that energy can not be created or destroy. From whence commeth that first joule? I am not telling you that I know the answer, just saying that I question the party line. Scientist don't know nearly as much as they claim to know... and the business is to claim to know. Is there even such a thing as energy. Remember, this is just a dream and reference to this dream as authority is hallucinatory.

If you want to do S/A properly you have to question the truth of everything, not just what you want or feel comfortable with. Question everything, especially authority of course. One of the few things I have found to be true is this is all illusion. There you go, you have the answer to the greatest mysteries of all time. In Truth, time is an illusion as well, so nothing every happened... in Truth. Now, in your dream, and primarily to keep you in it, there is a quite a strong illusion that time is real.

Game Hint: Stop trying to think your way through/out of this. Thinking got you here and keeps you here. The jailer is very reluctant to give you the keys to your cell. You have to intuit another way out... if you want to realize you True Nature you kinda sneak up on it.

Love ya, Jed.

Hi Jed, thanks for your reply.

Im kinda confused because you said that thinking is the best tool you have to unlearn what is untrue, to burn everything. You're telling me to stop thinking, I just dont see another way around it. I try to write things down like you told us in the books too.

Thanks again, Sirius.

It's not so much that thinking is good or bad, but there is good and bad patterns of thinking. I suggest you view it as a thorn that you use to remove another thorn (the I, me, my, mine) and then you throw both thorns away. Make sense?

Love ya, Jed.
