Dear Jed,

I haven’t done many extensive spiritual searches on different area of spirituality or belief systems like some of the people on your forum. However, I have read lots of self help books and to name some: Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra and on. I took a few glimpse of Buddhism but not further embarked on it.  About a year ago, one of my friend gave me a book called “A Course in Miracle” to read it. I began reading it and couldn’t understand what it is talking about. I was so eager to know so I searched for any books that would help me understand it. I read some of them and helped me a little bit what ACIM is all about.  One day, I watched a YouTube video and heard the person talking about a website called “Liberation Unleashed.” I visited the website and watched an interview of the two women who found the website.  In the interview they mentioned your name and how you inspired them to found the website and to help others. I immediately searched your name and found your books. I purchased them and read all of them.  I was so completely baffled by what you said about life in general that I have never heard on those years while I was reading those self help or new age books.
Here are my questions: You said, in your books, there is no “self”, and you also said Maya or Ego is a false self and it’s the architect of delusions. If there is no self, where is this false self come into picture or how is this Maya’s delusions express itself without the self?
If there is no “self” or no “I”, are we instruments for life to express itself in any way it wants and we have no say so on the matter? I ask this since you said we have no free will at all.
If we have no say so and life does whatever it wants, what is the purpose of waking up? Is it to know the games life is playing so we can play it together peacefully without fighting it?

Thank you,

Dear Kozi:

Welcome to the forum. I will answer your questions below, as best I can.

STOP, I said to myself. There are no answers... I repeat to myself. What's left of my mind is grinding away for something that will satisfy you. I sense you are fairly intelligent and perhaps analytic. Sorry bout that.

Your mind is the block to understanding, but it's something that has to be pacified, put back to sleep so you can see what is, not what you want to 'is'.

Let's start this way, tell me what you are experiencing right now as you sit there and read this. This is back to basics. I want you grounded before we do anything more. Forget all previous b.s. (It's all b.s.).

Feedback?

Love ya, Jed.

What I am experiencing right now reading this is a feeling of being dumb, stupid and unintelligent even though you said  you sense I am intelligent which I am not. I completely understand what you said that my “mind is the block to understanding.” Where or in which area the block is I don’t know.

Dear Kozi:

I ask this for you, not me. How do you know you are dumb and/or stupid. Just a vague 'feeling' is not of any use to me. Specifics please. Have a close look.

Love ya, Jed

Hi Jed,

I don’t know for sure if I am dumb or stupid.  Ever since I was introduced to ACIM (which I didn’t understand it at all)  a year and half ago, I changed my gear from self help books to exploring different area of learning such as reading your books. The reason I said I feel like I am dumb is I have more questions than answers and also have difficulty understanding the concept of this new spiritual teaching. Maybe I am hard on myself and demanding myself to understand and get some answers quickly in the area where I have difficulty comprehending. Do you have any suggestion what I need to do or read before I try so hard to understand highly advanced books such as yours?

Thank you Jed,

Hi Jed,

Right after I posted to answer some question for you, I read the posting you did, "Jed's rant", about what to do before posting. I found it to be useful. I will re-read it again and follow it.

Thanks again,
