No manīs fire
« on: April 09, 2018, 12:16:46 pm »
Dear Jed,
first - thank you for your books. They have always warmed me, in times sitting on no manīs fire.
25 years ago something hits me without a warning. Since then the "no-self" is the state of play.
After many adjustments I find myself as a husband and father of three with just a few things to cling to.
Just enough to play that funny game. The "Before Everything" is and will be - but something strange is knocking at the door.
It feels like a sunrise behind the sun. Dreamstate is Dreamstate and if you got this you canīt go further. The "I am" is the last thing I can be sure of.
But is it? Did you ever thought of breaking through that last thing?
Maybe I need a Kyosaku. How ever...thank you!
P.s. Iīm from Germany...not a native speaker. :-)

Dear K:

Thank you for your post and don't worry about your English.... just fine.

Is there anything beyond the ''I am''.... well, that sounds like a simple question, but it's really quite complicated because there are various ''I am"s. An answer depends on which one you refer to. It gets even more complicated because defining them ranges from quite easy (the sense that there is a ''you'', sometimes called an identity) o the fact that some people refer to awareness, consciousness and Truth as ''I am''.

What I can offer you is this... if you are asking then you need to go further.

Love ya, Jed.

Thank you Jed for your answer. That is the point! There is only that “point”. And it’s unpersonal...truth! You can’t go further!
In Dreamstate there can be an “I am” like an private observer. But it’s very far from that point of points! Am I asking or am I just interested in understanding the big boss (my) play? Is it even possible to understand? It’s absolutely unnecessary to understand but it’s knocking. And there had been no knocking for many years. There was even no door. :-) We will see...it sounds like fun!

It can be anything, but ''fun'' prevails my existence.

Love ya, Jed.
