"Looking in".  so this is what is looking in, to the manifested fabric or whatever this stuff is.  it shatters everything.

I found myself in a strange place while out shopping, the commentary in the head stopped totally for hours, and was stopped at that time.  I felt like I died.  I can't explan this.  I've had these moments before but not like this.  It was horrifying and peaceful at the same time.  I felt it was a very strange.  I can't seem to get myself to "do" anything.  There's been a lot of sitting or doing nothing, which is against everything I know.  I've put it job applications and no one is calling me, prayer doesn't work, nothing is manifesting at all.  just nothing.  how do I get this stupid thing to move so I can provide for myself?  ****

What do you mean ''nothing is manifesting''. Look around you.

Wanting pushes things away, essentially affirming and maintaining that you don't have and won't get what you want. I suggest extreme gratitude for the air you breath, trees, puppy dogs and children. I know that I'm beginning to sound like a country and western song, but what the heck. Try it.

Love ya, Jed.

I apologize I wasn't clear enough in my writing.  Yes I do need to add gratitute, there's a lot of resentment as my life has been rough the whole way.  I guess I feel like there should be some kind of thing showing up to show me what to do, or a purpose or patterns or something.  I dont' know.  Divine guidance, something.  I get the "no doer" thing and sometimes (thats they key word) it is my experience.  then it goes back this

"The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme"

great song

You said: I guess I feel like there should be some kind of thing showing up to show me what to do, or a purpose or patterns or something.  I dont' know.  Divine guidance, something.

I am a little flummoxed with with what you said. What do you think this forum is about, the books, the series, great writers such as Ramana and Nisargadatta? There is guidance all around you but you fail to open your eyes. I mean ALL around you. I just don't get it. If you are interested in pursuing H/R and T/R then get off you high horse and quit wasting time. Do something about it, like dealing with your resentments. If you think your life has been "rough the whole way" then buy a ticket and come here, I'll show you rough!

yes.  I've had an illness for the last 10 years that has left me in pain/inflammation the whole time, gratitude is not something I have been practicing.  I am backed up against the wall, no real family or support and I feel like everything has fallen apart.  At the core I feel like a hollowed out rod.  Thank you for your advice.

wondering if you had thoughts on breaking down certain sticky patterns.

for example, wanting/needing approval from others

I have been breaking it down like

If I am just thoughts, and others are just thoughts, then who is there to need approval?

Yet when I get around others the pattern is still there

You are doing something about it, however, it's pretty slow as you probably have noticed. One of the challenges is you are using a logical conscious method to deal with slightly out of consciousness issue. In addition, it's very difficult to get the mind to come up with solutions that tend to eliminate the mind. It's subtly resistant.

The Series has some specific contemplations on this, but they are a little complex and require some guidance to complete successfully. Just be as aware as possible while trying not to change anything.

The approval thing does seem to be one of the last straws, it seems not getting approval = death for false self
