Zen koan: what has no opposite?

Everything comes in two's, including everything and nothing.

Everything is an assumption. Nothing is more real than anything else.

'Out there' and 'in here' are assumptions as well.

*assumed* My *assumed* mind is *assumedly* always reaching 'out' to 'somewhere' as an ultimate basis for everything; the cornerstone that makes everything else make sense; the wall that defines the room, the house or the universe.

The infinitely complex assumption called the bubble of normalcy is no less amazing than Spongebob Squarepants living in a pineapple under the sea. And the most amazing thing is that it seems so normal.

Jed's information summary assignment:

Contemplating the end of the universe -> Sometimes did TM meditation when I was very young  with my grandmother who was a teacher -> Played Rayman 2: The Great Escape (great soundtrack) and Tibia -> contemplating the silliness of fake character based human interaction -> Studied many books on songwriting and lyric writing, learned the piano, guitar, singing, recording and performing music -> studied earth sciences for 1 year and a half -> Studied around 20 books and programs on social anxiety, had long email conversations with one of the authors for two years about the subject and related issues -> read The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and after that all books, audio books and video talks of him online -> read/listened to The disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard, Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz -> Found out about Christopher Hyatt and Radical Undoing, followed two courses on Radical undoing by Garrett Daun of Command - Z and was active in a related forum for a few years -> Read and listened to all of Jed Mckenna’s books -> Found out about NoFap on Reddit and did not masturbate or have any sex for a year -> Studied English literature and some philosophy at University, lot’s of postmodernism and poststructuralism. Some influential authors were Roland Barthes, Ayn Rand, Oscar Wilde, Jack Keruouac. -> Studied some old Theatre and acting techniques and Modern Classical music -> Did thesis on The Fountainhead and The Picture of Dorian Gray -> Got into pickup, especially RSD, lots of programs and youtube videos, especially from Tyler. -> Started reading about health and Raw Veganism, read about 20 books among which Heal yourself 101, Instructions for a new life and the prosperity secret by Markus Rothkranz -> Watched about all videos of Elliot Hulse, Danisnotonfire and Actualized.org on Youtube. -> Watched a lot of videos of debates with Christopher Hitchens. -> Started asking Jed McKenna some Questions on his forum and reading other threads.

Other notable books etc.: War and Peace and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, The name of the wind and The wise man’s fear by Patrick Rothfuss, The Introvert advantage, the highly sensitive person - elaine n. aron, Models - Mark Manson, LOTR, The Slight Edge - Jeff Olson, City of Glass - Paul Auster, Acres of Diamonds, Peaceful Warrior (movie), Think and Grow Rich, The Secret, The Tipping Point - Malcolm Gladwell, Go for No!, 7 habits of highly effective people, Biographies of Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Van Morrison, Mark Oliver Everett, Cosmos series with Carl Sagan.

I have found music very influential as well, especially Van Morrison, Death Cab For Cutie, Fleet Foxes, Little Richard, Noah and The Whale, early Coldplay, The Low Anthem, The Shins and the Riga Girl’s Choir.

Probably tons of more books, articles etc. but this is all I remember now.

I’ve never consciously wanted enlightenment, but I seem to be falling into this kind of stuff all the time, because it feels authentic or sth.

But to be honest, I’d throw all those books away for the fresh sea breeze of the Island where I grew up.

The one question I would ask you, if you don't mind, is: what life advice would you give your young (say 24 year old) self?

Simple... relax,  breathe and just let it all be. Your older you is in paradise and everything takes care of itself, eventually.

Love ya, Jed.

Showerthought: let go of the need to let go; there is nothing to let, there is nowhere to go, there is no one to need to.

To be completely honest, I've just been singing in canon on the same theme since I was eight, merely getting a little bit more wordy along the way. I am none the wiser, no further along whatever path, maybe a bit more crystallized.
I am at the same time as self-confident and as insecure as I can be regarding the truth that I feel as everything.
I seem to consist of contradictions, as inverse relations, as a student and teacher in conversation.

I do not feel like there is a truth, a plane of existence, a way of living, knowledge or experience that I do not know yet right now in the deepest of my core.
Yeah sure, appearances shift all the time, beliefs, behaviors and feelings aren't always positive, perfect and happy, whatever that is.
The 'bad' things seem to fall away though, and flow, peace and contentment increase every day it seems.
Questions turn into music and stories that dance around in my head, eager to be expressed.
Everything is reflected in everything, but there are only reflections.
Nothing has meaning but everything has purpose.
The I Am has roots in everything.
You can't try to be cool
Or act enlightened
Or play no one
But there is
A sense
Of all
Here
Is
.
