Title: Deeper Meaning in Song Lyrics
Post by: Rockhopper on April 16, 2018, 06:48:19 pm
You know how you suddenly start seeing a particular thing everywhere i.e. the same colour and model of car someone significant to you owns? Well I find songs I was mindlessly listening to many years ago suddenly having deeper meaning and then I ask myself, where they on the path too?

Fairground by Simply Red

Driving down an endless road
Taking friends or moving alone
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

It's always friends that feel so good
Let's make amends like all good men should
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

Walk around, be free and roam
There's always someone leaving alone
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

And I love the thought of coming home to you
Even if I know we can't make it
I love the thought of giving hope to you
Just a little ray of light shining through

Love can bend and breathe alone
Until the end it finds you a home
Don't care what the people may say

It's always friends that feel so good
Let's make amends like all good men should
Pleasure at the fairground on the way

And I love the thought of coming home to you
Even if I know we can't make it
I love the thought of giving hope to you
Just a little ray of light shining through
After all, they say you only live once

This one too. It's My Life by Talk Talk

Funny how I find myself in love with you
If I could buy my reasoning I'd pay to lose
One half won't do
I've asked myself
How much do you commit yourself?

It's my life
Don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends

Funny how I blind myself
I never knew if I was sometimes played upon
Afraid to lose,
I'd tell myself what good you do
Convince myself

It's my life
Don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends

I've asked myself
How much do you commit yourself?

It's my life
Don't you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends

O.K. Enough poetry... tell me what you are avoiding and we might get somewhere, or better yet, nowhere.

Love ya, Jed.

I'm still trying to figure out if I want out of the amusement park badly enough even though I know it is just that. I'm not at that rabid stage of being willing to gnaw off my own leg in order to escape the trap so I should probably just focus on HA for now and read poetry. Sorry but here's another, they seem to be coming out the woodwork. All this 'mindless pop' I was listening to in my teens was actually planting seeds.

HIDE AND SEEK by HOWARD JONES

There was a time when there was nothing at all
Nothing at all, just a distant hum
There was a being and he lived on his own
He had no one to talk to, and nothing to do
He drew up the plans, learnt to work with his hands
A million years passed by and his work was done
And his words were these...

Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it, hope you find it
Hope you find me in you

So she had built her elaborate home
With it's ups and it's downs, its rains and its sun
She decided that her work was done, time to have fun
And she found a game to play

Then as part of the game
She completely forgot where she'd hidden herself
And she spent the rest of her time
Trying to find the parts

Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it in everything, everything that you see
Hope you find it, hope you find it
Hope you find me in you

Dear RH:

I get you are attached to the past and like verse. Another post like that and I will ban you.

If you came here to seek some assistance in moving along, further, in the journey to self, you need to stop with the fluff language and share something about yourself. What are you experiencing right now and perhaps where you feel stuck.

Thanks in advance for you anticipate response, sans poety.

Love ya, Jed.

Ok Jed where I'm stuck right now. Driving home today I remind myself this is all dreamstate what I'm seeing. Mind content = appearance = false. However if I didn't brake in time, the impact with the car in front of me would be pretty solid and unforgiving to myself and it's occupants plus the cars themselves. This dreamstate seems to have have sharp edges which cut and bruise. That's the SA question I'm stuck on atm.

You didn't express a question, per se, but I will hallucinate that your are thinking dream and mind is saying ''Hell no, I could die if I don't pay attention''. Well, that's typical of mind crap. The real you was never born and thus can never die.... so you drop a body. Find out who you really are and you will have very little concern for that ''apparent'' loss. Yes, it is a dream and yes, it appears quite durable. If it didn't, everyone would just 'pop out'.

Love ya, Jed.
