Free will is a concept, so it exists (or doesn't as the case may be) in the thoughts of the thinker while they think it.

That it exists as a concept in that moment is true. That the content of conceptualisation can be true or not is false.

More accurately, it is irrelevant. It is this chasing of wind that keeps the mind going.

If you think you have free will, does that mean you have it, or that you think you have it?

If I think i have a donut, does that mean I have a donut?

How would I know for sure?

Basically T/R is about to stay with the "what is" as close as possible. For as long as the physical body puts up with. I can't explain it, it's simply nothing, zero, infinite, the void.

People swim against the currents, stressing themself with pointless resistance. Let it go, relax and enjoy the wild water rafting ride. Eventually everyone falls off the waterfall, things appear and goes away. What is within all these happenings? Is it within anything? What is occuring?

I see thousand of masks. Life is a masquerade. You can paint the mask, give it a name, try to eat it! **** all values! Punch through and see if it bleeds. Since its nothing then it doesn't exist. The term exist means it is a "some"thing. While the mask is a something, beneath it all is... a... uhm.. even words are masks!

What has this to do with free will I wonder? Strip yourself of any assumptions. Further and further.

If I truly believe that I am a giant jelly donut with sprinkles sent back in time to save Monica Lewinsky's reputation then....Who or what in this world could possibly prove to me that I am not.

That IS free will.

Your welcome.

No point hypothesizing about it, do it and test it.

Darn Jed, now I get what you mean by that. And it's not obvious at all to choose the stage.

Love,
Kati

Do whatever you want. Or not. That is free will and its with you every second. No one can take it but you can give it away as so many do. Plenty of examples here.

If it doesn't feel good. Why do it? Good luck :)

Excuse me:
"Next second, which word do you think of?"
"How do you know what you're thinking about this word?"
"Why is this word, not another word / sentence?"
"If you want to say," I don't know "
Tell me: the beginning of the "I" is how to come out?
Are you sure it's your free will to play a role?"

"You" choose the next thought by being aware of the thought process. Or "you" are sleepy and ask "others" or let them come by autopilot.

I am free will. I choose to play a role. And I choose...exactly.. When.to.stop.

Man oh man.... you mean I can't jump? I've had my knickers in a knot for some years about this since a couple of LSD experiences where I stumbled upon my fear of death. I almost let go..(I started getting sucked out of my own head for some weird reason??!) but then I grabbed hold of the nearest thing/thought. :/  I think what this has taught me is like you say it is not up to me... I can't do **** but relax.
But the fear of death... it is only on acid I get to face it. And doing that to get to that is automatically putting up resistance because it is not really a surprise is it. So if I want it I can't get it. I am not ready yet. Right?
This **** has brought me a lot of confusion.. and tension... Trying to relax though... as that could work. :)

What do you say Jed?
