Jed Rant: A quotation.
« on: February 20, 2017, 04:56:22 am »
Dear Forum members and lurkers:

A Nav Series student suggest some work in Buddhist Dzogchen tradition. In it, I found the following. I think you might enjoy it:

So stay right here, you lucky people,
let go and be happy in the natural state.
Let your complicated life and everyday confusion alone
and out of quietude, doing nothing, watch the nature of mind.
This piece of advice is from the bottom of my heart:
fully engage in contemplation and understanding is born;
cherish non-attachment and delusion dissolves;
and forming no agenda at all reality dawns.
Whatever occurs, whatever it may be, that itself is the key,
and without stopping it or nourishing it, in an even flow,
freely resting, surrendering to ultimate contemplation,
in naked pristine purity we reach consummation.

Love ya, Jed.

Here's mine cheesy offering-

Most people go the distance,
I go there and back,
Is it noon or is it midnight.

That is more Zen than Buddhism... one needs to read between the lines and mustn't try to understand it but rather feel it. If you think this is NABS you don't "get" it. Contemplate it without trying to make sense of it or trying to make up what it might mean.

Anyway, I think it's very beautiful. :)

The image of a coffee filter comes to me... weird... but what's ready  to go through it goes through it, what gets caught by the filter doesn't.

Thank you Frits.

Cheers.

I could be out of line here, but there doesn't seem to be anything helpful in that quote. Am I missing something?

Amen, Jed.

Here's a quotation from good old J.C.

"Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death"

If you don't get it... don't fret it...

... but I can only speak for this thing that appears to be me.

Love ya, Jed.

Excellent M... I love your twist... and here's more grist for your mill.

The actual essence, pristine gnosis,
cannot be improved upon, so virtue is profitless,
and it cannot be impaired, so vice is harmless;
in its absence of karma there is no ripening of pleasure or pain;
in its absence of judgement, no preference for samsara or nirvana;
in its absence of articulation, it has no dimension;
in its absence of past and future, rebirth is an empty notion:
who is there to transmigrate? and how to wander?
what is karma and how can it mature?
Contemplate the reality that is like the clear sky!

Sounds like wisdom to me, but what do I know  ??? ??? ???
Relax, breathe and let all be as it is... and it is nothing at all.

Love ya, Jed.
