Jed Rant, an assault on your memories
« on: June 10, 2017, 10:50:12 am »
To Whomever it may Concern:

Memories fit into only a few categories. They either prove you were right and someone else was wrong and thus guilty, prove you are wrong and someone else was right and thus you are guilty, or prove something is just wrong with this world in general and thus everyone is guilty.

There is no such thing as a true memory. NOW, watch how your mind jumps in to argue with that statement. Come on, prove me wrong, I dare ya... and love ya.

Jed.

So, memory is based on judgement.

Wow Frits.... are you getting old or something. What happened to the good old days.. and the good old Frits? Does this mean you love, adore and worship me.... wait, I'll provide your answer for you... NEVER!

And, Lian, you might see it that way, but I suggest you just watch for whatever serves Maya/ego's purpose....

BUT, back to you Frits.... you have ruined my day by agreeing with me... damn you!

Ah, hell, love ya anyways.

Jed.

I don't get what you are getting at here, Jed. Of course, you can fit almost anything into any box if you just apply enough effort.
But how does a memory of a beautiful sunset or a church choir fit into this?

And what else are we but a memory?

We are the infinite capacity within which everything in this universe and all other universes appears. Memories are a survival instinct artifact and have been co-opted by Maya/ego. To think you are only memories is exactly what she/it wants you do to. It is to limit yourself in a less-than-optimal manner.  ;) ;) ;)

Love ya, Jed.

There is no such thing as true. Hence there can't be any true memory. Memory an important part of the illusion of time. Beside that it seems clear that your ego construct have access right to edit memory to keep you in the illusion you are in control.

Due to sickness I had a period of my life with partial memory loss. Actually I have tried totally loss of memory two times. Now that is a very strange feeling.

Essentially I can't disagree with you.

What about the memories where nobody was wrong? Like, memories of a very tasty dinner. Not in terms that the world in general was right, putting that tasty thing on my plate, but "I still remember that delicious taste... Even my memories of it taste good"

The memory of the diner you had yesterday creates yesterday.

Edit: more accurate.... Creates the illusion of yesterday

Creates the illusion of momentum. It could be put on pause for a thousand years and we would never notice. When the current frame executes there is no memory. What we perceive as memory is always frames that have executed. The illusion of now or this moment is a part of the time illusion.

Agin I have to edit to clarify: It is not actually the frame that execute. It is the program that executes and creates the state transition from the current frame to the next frame.

I agree that memories are products and reflections of the maya/ego world. But I disagree with

They are not conected solely with right/wrong thinking. I think that they are primarly conected with good/bad (or pleasant/unpleasant) kind of thinking and experiences and not with right/wrong.

Yes and no. There is no such thing as a true memory but yet, everything is written and arpears in universe and nothing is lost. It is similar as I am everything and I am nothing.

The thing with knowing what's happening is that this body-mind-brain-thing we identify ourself with can only know what happens if it has a memory of something with which it can relate, compare or identify what happened. So we can never know what happens, only what happened when it is already over. The moment we know what happened, it's because it's a memory and a memory is always in the past, therefore we can only know the past, and the past is nonexistent.

I have really no fvcking idea where I wanted to go with this... hahahaha. Sorry to have wasted your nonexistent time.

Who says that past is nonexistant? You don't know. We don't know. Past as well as future are products of our Maya/ego world. Both are happening now. So, they exist... we exist in the past, in the now and in the future. We are nothing and we are everything. There is no such thing as a true memory. And yet, everything is just a memory. Everything in universe has code about creation and existent. And what it is else as just memory? The whole universe is just a bunch of memories.
I am everything and I am nothing.

Even if we accept time as an existing something, the past is gone, it has been and is no more, just like the future doesn't exist because it has not yet happened. But time is made up by the mental state and doesn't really exist. That is why all memories are false, they depend on the past that doesn't exist right now. The past is a memory, a thought, nothing more. You can't touch it, you can't see it and you can't change it, because it is what is not happening... it is not.

This leaves us with "right now" of which we know nothing, because to know something we must remember it and all memory is false. So this moment right here now is all there apparently is (it is here seemingly so) and we don't know anything about it, cos we're not able to know anything we don't remember. That is why no one knows anything (Jed included).
