This lurker character feels motivated to post so here goes...Have consumed all of the books/audiobooks and have no doubt they are an accurate portrayal of all that is...have an academic idea of no self and have no doubt that there is no self but for some reason every morning when I wake up there is a longing to go back to sleep.  I am definitely drawn to solitude and it's like a sick joke because this character is a husband and father to four little guys...I know they are not real but they are very convincing....

This character has been placed in a very solitary profession (private investigator- owner of my own firm)  I guess I'm now getting to the question part.  Why (other than for entertainment) would this character be placed in a story with a wife and four little guys? It's draining to be an actor every day...

Lurking seems like a good way to avoid missing out on anything new that turns up, but most of the time there really doesn't seem to be anything worth reading. Watching other people go through their process is like trying to taste food in someone else's mouth.

I've been lurking here every now and then but didn't have anything to ask. Or, all my possible questions seem to be stupid and too simple. Why wouldn't I just answer myself by doing autolysis or The Work by BK?

I have read Trilogy three times (every time like totally new books :D), Dreamstate twice as well as The Jed Talks #1, done autolysis and The work, take myself still too seriously and feel anxious of being stuck right now.

I know I have peeled a lot of garbage and taken forward steps, but now I think I really have to put even more effort to this process. I know it will cost me a lot (all) as I have already paid a lot (actually nothing ;D) but I also know that I truly do not have any other choice. So, here I am. Ready to take some kicks in the ass 8)

I don't have any questions. Yes, this means I have all the answers. Am I a lurker? Off course I am. Or maybe I am not, I don't know. I entered this forum by stating I am not a robot. That might be a lie. What do you think?

Hello Jed, Thanks for the little nudge to register and post a bit about myself.  I actually began a process of belief-elimination last year that seems to dovetail nicely with Spiritual Autolysis.  I stumbled on a site named recreateyourlife.com and the founder [Morty Lefkoe, now deceased] created a simple process of eliminating limiting beliefs that in my case, I had been carrying around since childhood.  After reading your first two books last week, I am beginning SA and am experimenting to get a process down.  I'll pick a facet of my life, puke a short essay about it, go back and underline the obvious and not-so-obvious beliefs [or what I believe to be true] and then use the Lefkoe Belief process to eliminate the belief.  Am I making things too complicated?  Without this crutch, I find myself writing about "I am sitting in this chair in my living room" and it goes nowhere fast.[insert unhappy emoticon].
I've just started poking around on this site and will continue seeking [ha] guidance on this topic, so if you're sick of this type of question and have answered it too many times just point me to the right thread.  If I have other questions, I'll try to keep the run-on sentences to a minimum.

Hi Max:

Welcome to the forum. ''I am sitting in a chair'' can take you all the way here. Are you sure you are sitting in a chair? Granted it may appear that way, but who is the you and what is this appearance you call and chair? i.e., who is sitting in what?

I grant you that it may sound a little strange, but if you look very, very closely, you will find there is no you and no chair, no one sitting on nothing. What could be simpler.

Best of luck on your journey.

Love ya, Jed.

I too have a hard time to see where contemplating the chair will get me... I am wondering if I am too smart or too dumb to do this. For me it is just words... I mean we see a form and call it a chair. It is made up. And then what? Is there something I am missing? Help me out!  :D Is there some basic steps to take to somehow eliminate the chair? The chair is or the belief that there is or is not a chair is not personal to me so maybe I should take another route?

If you can really get that a ''chair'' is a just a work denoting a concepts... things may rattle loose for you. What else is just a word referring to a concept?

Could it be that in the beginning was the word, and it all went downhill when we started thinking the word was real, was the thing it referred to? And, that does that word refer to, just an experience... which is usually wrapped in more words. What if you had a moment of no-words.... just experiences?

Fun and games.

Love ya, Jed.
