Once started, it works on its own. Law of Distraction does not apply. You cannot be distracted by anything, you learn something from everything. Law of Distraction is false. Enlightenment is inevitable. Resistance is futile.

If my mind is distracted by something, it enters a new context in which the same awakening process applies.

Slowly. I am aware of my unconsciousness and I believe I always did something to maintain it. In order to cover the truth, you have to do something. If you do nothing (if ego does nothing to adapt to the changing reality), the illusion should fall away and truth be revealed. I'm thinking about the art of doing nothing, of not covering the lies that fall away with other, more complicated lies. I believe this is how science progresses, when some bugs are discovered in a theory, it is immediately covered up with more sophisticated theories.

Theories or not, I still see change and the world progressing. All of these things are not irrelevant for enlightenment; The developments taking place will eventually leave more space for doing nothing, people are less required to keep society running, hence it is progress toward enlightenment.
Also, whenever anything unTrue happens it is burned away, kind of like a bucketlist being fulfilled step by step. When all is done, there is nothing left but Enlightenment.

Distractions are meant to support the ego, by creating noise. They require effort, so they are a sort of work. When fear subsides, they lose their appeal, so they are seen as work.

You must be rich already.  I can't even keep count of how many distractions I buy a day.  Such an incredible ubundance of distractions it's amazing.  Each one seems different and unique but they're all the same.
