Dear Gwen:

Excellent...

I have one additional distinction that could be of value.

Feelings are something that you can experience in your fingers or toes, heat, pressure, cold, etc.

Emotions are your conversations about that feeling, bad, good, want, don't want.

Have a look at this.

The way it works is you might have a tightness in your stomach and a conversation in your head saying 'I'm not feeling good about this situation'. You don't need to verbalize it because your feet may just turn around on their own and walk out. But, that is just my blah, blah, blah.

Love ya, Jed.

Hi Jed,

Then here comes a question, for the sake of Truth, instead of following the ego, when there is feeling, is it better to act on it or merely observe it? For instance, the situation you described, walk away or stay and observe?

Dear Jed,

Thanks for this addition. Very clear now!

Your blah blah is what I've been thinking about a lot these days.
There is nothing wrong with the walking away part. letting be doesn't mean tolerating everything I guess.
Whatever is here, IS.
I can walk away from something without the labelling part.
Let's pretend there is this big black tarantula on my arm. I don't have to label this event as wrong, I don't have to
label the tarantula as wrong, I don't have to feel sorry because this is happening. If I remove the spider without all the stories,it will probably be much more gentle and without all the suffering.

Love
Gwen

List:

Freedom
Life
Death
my wife
the momentary "happiness" provided each time I get a new toy or goal
Search for truth
Family
Knowledge
I'm right
Control
To achieve constant peace
have enough money
survive
approval
guidance
Silence
Have financial freedom

It seems that I'm attached to a mental auto-torture, pain and suffering by resisting all what "is" "out there"

Whether or not your stick around, endure, argue, bow down or turn and walk away is not the issue. The important point is that you are free to do any one of these
and they are all equally attractive, equanimity.

Love ya, Jed.

Over the past couple of years have progressively been loosening my grip on the tiller to the point where I now am pretty good about just trusting the way of things.

Correct breathing does help.

From time to time I lapse back into both-hands-on-the-wheel. It is almost always related to financial matters, or events/things that will have a direct influence on which.

Relaxing the body, breathing into the belly, and defocusing the eyes helps, but so does looking closely at the sensations and investigating their nature.

Cute girls + sex
Warm weather
Clean and quiet environments (comfort)
Nicotine
Friends

My biggest attachment of all is...

FREEDOM.

I don't like the idea of a career. I like to come and go as I please.

Holy cow! I think I know what you mean.

Lately I've been noticing...

I'm happy hanging out with my roommate. Being alone.

Working. Playing. Watching a tv show.

Taking my morning walk. Breathing. Doing nothing. Sleeping.

Going to a coffee shop. Making my own coffee.

Eating out. Cooking at home.

Sometimes the mind claims to want more. But more just makes me feel overwhelmed.

Happiness is fleeting. If I can be okay doing anything, then what happens doesn't matter.

I can let go of the illusion of control and just let life happen (although, I may put up a fight from time to time).

I was really confused for a while because I didn't know what I wanted. I didn't believe my thoughts.

But I think the universe is showing me that I can chill out and love what I have.

Recently I have fully taken my hands off the tiller and in doing so have been able to let go of last attachments to control my environment. In doing so I was also in a situation where I was ready to leave and move on but said I'll wait for a door to open (as I let go of the tiller) and 2 days later that door opened wide open and kicked me out on my ars! LOL!

Normally I would have retaliated, and believe me I had some cool ideas of how I could, but in allowing things to be, all of that has faded away over the last week. It is invigorating and freeing to just let go and I mean really let go and allow flow without causing myself obstruction.

Whenever my mind wants to try and take over I just remind it that I receive 6 seconds before I perceive therefore I am ok no matter what is going on. I don't have to like everything but accept everything as it is and nothing more.  ;D

Never occurred to me to identify attachments,
but, when I think about it and in order of importance to me:

1 Life forms
2 Matter
3 Energy
 :D
