Dunno why I’m writing this – I think when I see Janet going after e/tr like that it touches me – because I’ve been there.
My heart goes out to a fellow Dutchman as well.

Ionien – yeah it’s nothing – but also everything.
It’s the key to the universe.

But to both of you I’d say the most important question to ask is why are you doing this?
What do you want to gain?

I know you’re going after THE TRUTH – but what will it give you?
What are you really after?

I know I went after tr because I thought I had this noble desire to know THE TRUTH.
Thinking it would solve all my problems.
Help me make sense of my world.
And in a way it did.
But I’m now realizing that I went after tr because I really wanted control over my world.
And at this point of the journey I know that’s possible.
Just – if I’d have admitted that to myself in the beginning- it would have made the e/tr part of the journey a little easier – I would have know what I was looking for.

And though it lands you up in the same place (IMHO) – there’s easier more effective ways to see more immediate results.
Google ‘New Thought’, Neville Goddard and Seth.

The bottom line is cogito ergo sum, Thought/Belief =Reality.
And into that box you can put every opinion/thought ever expressed.

I wish someone had told me that when I started, well actually, someone did – but I didn’t listen then because it sounded too strange and a paradox.
You probably won’t listen either.

Oh well – that’s life.
It’s a fun ride in the amusement park.
Have fun!
In Joy

Excuse me but how do you think to know that I want to gain anything? What do you mean by "why are you doing this". Why am I doing what?
I'm not going after anything, I'm just hanging out here, writing in a Forum.

Just one thing my mind came across a few days ago, it's goes into the "How do I know anything is for real" direction.
I was thinking about some ethic lessons I once had and that our teacher wanted to show us how to build a legit argument and proof of something. He made a negative example, those were his words: "You see, just because everyone believes something to be true, it doesn't necessarily have to be true (agreed, but now it comes:). For example, back in the days, everyone believed the world to be flat. Now we know it's not."
Back then I was, oh yeah sure.
And the first part of what he said is absolutely true, but the rest?! Everyone believed the world to be flat? How the heck does he know? And how the heck does he know that it's not flat now?! Like... I don't know. I don't know! Maybe the earth is a octahedron, no idea.
But what struck me was: I never ever questioned it. How could I not question this? Why don't we all question everything all the time?

Questioning something that someones says is often seen as a threat their illusory model of self.

Sharks don't each other sharks out of professional courtesy, similarly you know not to question authority. Well, rather, you KNEW.

Now, what other b.s. could you questions? Perhaps about your own beliefs and identities.

Be gentle and remember to breathe. Write your experiences if you feel inclined to.

Love ya, Jed.

Techno, its entrancing, it forces the mind to open and indulge in something that at first is completely unattractive, i have a theory that its similiar to the beats tribes would play while dancing around a fire, theres an energy with a repetitive beat, and the aggression behind it is truly stimulating when you get into it. truly powerful genre if one can see it through the right lens, at first one would say this sounds like something dying but its much more than that. Shapednoise is a good example of this sort of music, ill warn you its not for everyone!

i love my rock aswell though, african music, hiphop, ambient house, minimal techno.
minimal techno is much less aggressive but still creates an entrancing effect, more relaxed though.

when you properly confront it (Techno, certain kinds,) its almost scary, its such a bizzare, rythm and melody that you cant possibly predict beyond the next bar of beats. when it's really heavy techno im forced to surrender to it in a way, abandon egoic searches/worries and just let it be without worrying when the ear drums are going to go. i think it could be used as a way to viciously tear through the parts of ego to get a glimpse of just surrender, could defenitly be traumatizing to some though

My bizarre hobby is copyediting and typesetting. I can remember being 10 or 11 years old and being fascinated by the way letters appear on the printed page. So precise, so much care, so much beauty. Weird, huh?

Chemistry. That's something special to me. Used to hate it in high school and for years had nightmares that I was told to retake my final chemistry exam. Then once upon a time too many questions and thinking brought about a realization that N (nitrogen) is not good or bad, it just IS. It is. Somehow it was my "nuclear explosion" that collapsed the rest of the world. Things are not bad or good. They just are.  Silly thing. But stopping seeing like other people insured quite a miserable existence for a few years. Trying to communicate it with others just made things worse. Ha. Until your books showed up on my horizon. And I knew what it was. First step.

Flying.  I became a pilot at age 52 because it was something I always wanted to do.  I love it.

Also, I help a lot of people in the recovery community, and I find the greatest joy out of sitting with a guy and just watching the lights come on.  I guess I get my biggest rush from that.  I feel like I go away when I'm just being there in service to another.  Other centered, so to speak.
