I once asked "no you" to light your pant leg on fire and retype that sentence. Have "no you" done that yet? If not please do and report. 8)

Thank you for that Frits.
It also means you killed the original question.
What do you really want?
Just a silly thingy from a certain perspective quite entertaining from another.

So, an apparent someone did not do what you asked him to do... and that proofs what exactly?

I think you're dizzy.

It "proofs" that not even you are capable of clarifying your nonsensical jibber jabber. Enough said.

(This totally is a trick question, isn't it hehehe.)

Of course I want some of that HWAS goodness, why else am I such a good consumer?

In all seriousness though, H/A is the way to go. Once you decide to accept what is and be responsible you'll become inspired to play the game. Now, the conditions towards achieving this HWAS are different for every person regarding what their happiness is and what their sorrows are. Find all of those and you've arrived at the holy land, yeahhh. An important part of this search is to realize we are humans, that work in a certain way. Books on psychology, sociology, history, biology are your friend. Basically just study up on what you're dealing with (your ''hardware/software'', to use that old, worn-out computer metaphor).

OR you can take the shortcut and just meditate your ass off. Discipline the mind and just go into the now as often as you can, until you need to think about stuff. In the moment, is there really anything you need besides some nice whiff of eco-friendly air?

Maybe the ultimate one-two KO punch is both approaches combined; finding the right life circumstances and being able to be present in them, or be present and then find the right life circumstances.

But to answer your question: I want to find the right meanings in life that make my life just a tad bit interesting. There must be a song in there, somewhere...

Dear S&M:

I feel this overwhelming urge to post a response to your post. I will proceed to fulfill my urge. You said that:

Books on psychology, sociology, history, biology are your friend.

I have read a crap-load of books on those subjects, and my conclusion what they were mostly a crap-load. Very few were written by authors with knowledge and their own true nature. Virtually all come from academia and I can tell you that finding happy, well adjusted, and perhaps even enlightened folks in academia is quite a challenge. Written by Maya and for her self-serving purposes and perfect examples of the blind leading the blind.

I would suggest reading books written by people who were pretty much illiterate but knew their true nature and how to point others in the that direction. Try something by Nisargadatta or Ramana Maharshi. Not authors in the usual sense, but collections of their teachings are priceless IMNHO (in my never humble opinion).

There you go, urges met and back to my nann and masala tea.

Love ya, (and don't be scared off by my belligerence, nothing wrong with the rest of your approach and hey, ya got  my attention! Good on ya.)

Jed.

The irony of your question is that one can ardently wish themself into that for which they have no experience, little grok and no mechanism except conjecture and some literature to suppose their way forward.

But wishes have their very own momentum ... HA is what everyone really wants while they're still somebody. But there's a real possibility of overshooting and ending up glimpsing TR, which starts bringing down the whole house of cards, even as you're enjoying the fruits of HA.

And unless, like an adult, you then willingly surrender and actively engage in it, you could be dragged kicking and screaming from your insanity, fighting to stay in the Matrix...and who wants that?

Dear Jed,

I don't know if I might ask a question, but here it goes. What do you mean by Human Adulthood?
Could you please clearify this definition?

Nann and masala tea... that's a golden combination if I ever saw one.

I agree with your argument about academia not knowing what their true nature is. I've hung around the academic realm long enough to realize how much of a circlejerk most of it is.

The reason why I said those books are your friend is not because they might help you become either truth realized or a human adult. It's almost the opposite, haha.

I said it coming from a place of H/A and wanting to play the game. And like friends should be they can only be valuable advisors, never your masters. In the end you have to think for yourself.

Doing this then is nothing more than exploring Maya, dancing with her and discovering her new moves. Maybe even come up with a few of your own. Of course, I'm totally projecting and talking about my own conditions for human happiness. My apologies if I sounded like I was preaching. I only do that in real life ...

Thank you for the recommendations, I'll go and check them out when the time is right.

And don't worry about the belligerence, I love the passion :).

Hi I'm new here. I'm glad to find your blog again Jed. I read all of your books a few years back and it really affected me. Basically I drank heavy for three years after that. Depressing is what it left me with - but hey - I hold no grudge :'( What really got to me was the futility of it all. and that was not something I really wanted to contemplate at that time. You really spun me around on my ear because it felt like the complete opposite direction from what I had be doing. I have been conflicted in my growth oriented mind ever since But finally what I have integrated of your nihilistic philosophy is at least I am accepting the likely truth of what you say but still I am reaching for the felt optimism of happiness. Being happy just feels better than being sad. While I am looking for what I like in my world my world looks brighter. I have more life in my body from that frame of mind.

You have said here that it is wise to grow up completely into the joy creation manifesting state before trying to achieve Truth Realization. I'm glad you said that because it validates my decision to keep some fantasies alive.

I have noticed that when the idea of incorporating something is fearful that I cant really deal with it yet - but when I am ready I will see that I'm not afraid. Its like climbing a ladder where every step is a new vibration. when my head is above a step I am ready to take another step up - but not before.

Oh I just read the Impersonal Life today. Well I read as far as I can, maybe five sixths of the whole. That last 20% I'm feeling frustrated with. Had an animated and loud conversation with my universe earlier and it just agitates me to no end. I'll try to get my Zen back soon here.
