I think it is as Nisargadatta says: The dream continues after the death of the body... Delusion(games) will keep getting new bodies of expression until it decides to annihilate itself, IMO.
Everytime I died in a dream, existence continued to be the same, with all it's delusions and drama... the only difference was the absence of the body. The proccess can be different on waking life though
