Jed Rant: What to do in 2017
« on: December 31, 2016, 01:37:41 am »
Dear Members and Lurkers:

So, what does this Jed guy recommend for the new year. Do nothing  ::) ::) ::). What else did you expect me to say  ??? ??? ???. O.K. you want a little more. I understand.

Depending on how long you have had your space suit, you have spent tens of years building up and strengthening the illusion that you exist as a Jill or Johnny, that you have actually had the experiences you now call memories, that what others did to you and you to others is important, and a long list of concepts and thoughts. Literally many thousand are being held in mind and all of it supported by parents, society, education, government, courts, etc.

Outside my home in Cambodia there is a building being built. They use concrete, bricks and mortar. Take your body to be the concrete framework, the bricks to be your thoughts/memories and the mortar to be the gluey importance you have attached to them to keep it all together. All of those things boil down to dust and ashes. Where will that building be in a hundred years, a thousand years ... it will be nothing at all. What you take to be you is no different. It is insubstantial and of no consequence. Watch how you mind rejects that thought.

If the above is reasonably accurate (at least in my experience) then how long do you think it will take to undo, unweave the tangled mess? Yes, quite a while. Will it be uncomfortable? Certainly it will, but only temporarily? Will it involve upsetting you ''normal'' life? Yes, I can assure you it will but there are ways to deal with that. Will it involve you experiencing the Violet blue flame of Jesus's love, the ability to see into the future, the opening of all your chakras, all the NABS you have been sold... well... it might, but none of them are T/R, just passing side-effects which are best ignored (emphasis on ignored). BE PATIENT WITH SELF AND OTHERS.

Do you really want what no one can fully describe (but some keep trying)? Want what cannot be imagined? Do you really want to let go of all your b.s. and realize your True Nature? Why would you want that and how could you not want that? It's inevitable anyways, but why not put down all your weapons and shields now? Why not just let go, forgive and release every little pain and hurt, both those that you 'think' you have imposed on others and those that you 'think' others have foisted upon you.

If you are reading this I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are living a lie. It's causing you pain that you have plastered over, usually with blame and rationalizations. These are a poor substitute for letting go. It starts with a decision that you don't want to live like that any more. That decision, if sincere, then worms it's way to deeper releasing, letting go and forgiving.

No one has every hurt you and you have never hurt anyone... it's all stories, meaningless vacuous stories, with just enough importance attached to them to require maintenance.

The odd time I will get into a conversation with a traveler here. Almost always they will have a wonderfully designed back pack that can weigh upwards of 65 pounds, sometime they have two, a smaller one on front, perhaps to balance things out. Sometime I find myself saying, ''next time you travel take less clothes and more money''. They always give me a resolved ''yeh, you're darn right'' look.

You are traveling through this human existence with too little money (Currency denominated in awareness/forgiveness/peace) and way to much clothing (all the crap/hurts/memories/rationalizations/personal armor, etc.).

Forgive my tortuous/tortured New Years metaphors, seems all I could come up with, other that to wish you the very best in your human journey, in the coming year and those that follow. Thank you for being a part of my human experience.

Love ya, Jed.

Insignificance, and Im not sure why I deleted my last comment, and wrote the word that is probably more honest. Context is this, right now, when else. Happy New year Jed et al.  With love.

There are no levels of importance, that is only an importance one would attach to importances. Nothing is important, nothing at all. That is good news for your sense of freedom but bad news for you sense of illusory worth. You are not important, and I am definitely not important.

Love ya, Jed.

Dear Ahab:

No forgiveness required as no offense taken. Liken this forum to anything you wish... however, I suggest you come back and review your words when you, along with the universe, have totally disappeared. My guess is you couldn't be bothered with me or it. I would be delighted.

You said, ''you have set this forum up with your body to facilitate the purpose of bringing other inhabitants of bodies closer to the true singularity.'' Is that true? Do you know my intentions? It may indeed seem to be, but are you sure? Was your post motivated by an importance? If so, what was that importance? Again, it may seem to be real, but is it?

In my experience no one inhabits a body. A body arises in the void/mystery or Truth and no one is involved. If anything is inhabited, Truth is inhabited by a body, and everything else in this appearance.

I am not beyond assigning an importance to something, however, I am very aware of what I am doing and if and when that importance is of no use, it is promptly released.

It's not that assigning importances is of any importance. It's about the multitude or old and useless importances that people carry around... that is the challenge. They get in the way of being an adult and enjoying this dream.

Importances are slightly below conscious awareness. They impinge on conscious awareness and cause considerable havoc. Allmost always a person cannot understand where the come from or why they feel that way and do what they do. It's the past driving the future, and I am suggesting that driving while looking in the rear view mirror (without knowing what you are doing so) is less than optimal.

That's all, nothing more. In the end upon your death bed you will probably realize that all importances where rather silly. An intention to carry them beyond the grave is, one more, quite silly. If that is true, why bother with clinging to them whilst in this human experience.

Keep in mind, it's all entertainment.... ALL!

Love ya, Jed.

Dear Jed, now that we are talking about forgiveness and human developmental stuff, can you share some of your insights regarding envy and jealousy? These days I see it everywhere, I think that's what drives 90% human action and desires. How one should go about getting envy out of the way? How to tell the difference between envy driven desire and authentic desire?

Thanks Alig:

Good question. Envy and jealously come  down to two focal points.

1.) You think something should be other than it is. This is the ''I am a minor deity and know better than God'' syndrome. This thinking utilizes words like: should, shouldn't, must be, can't be, I need and/or I want. All quite sub-optimal for anyone seeking happiness and H/A.

2.) You have an identity called ''I am unworthy''. It's the most prolific identity in the human experience and supported very strongly by organized religion. You are never you identity, whether a desirable or not desirable identity, it is strictly a mask and has nothing to do with the real You, however, they can and do get in the way of fully experiencing this dream.

There are some very effective contemplations that I teach in the Series, but they take some time and hand holding to master. However, the essence of virtually all contemplation is your attention. I suggest you be very, very aware of these mechanisms. If you feel like crap, just be intensely aware of your experience and do you best to not resist it, regardless of how it feels.

Remember, emotions promise that you will get by keeping them exactly what you get by losing them.

Love ya, Jed.

Thank you for your kind words Lilli. While there is no meaning in anything, I assign much value to them in my dream.

Dear Jed,

your words are like a pure medicine. Just what I needed in life. I love your no-nonsense approach. Focusing just on the important things.

It will all be unimportant on the deathbed. That is a good picture to have in mind all the time!

It does need time to happen, but it started happening, everything is different already. Nothing needs to be somehow. It is perfect the way it is. Life is so much easier and everything is lighter. It is just a play, intended for having fun! God, how could I regard it so seriously before? It is silly!  :)

So happy to have found your books. Much more useful and fun than any new age b.s.!

You may not be important, as you say, but your human experience helped so much to make mine wonderful for living. And many others, too. You are a wonderful no-being. Appreciating it so so much I can not even describe you. Thank you.
