Living in caves... hm...
« on: February 03, 2021, 08:30:22 am »
Here is a fellow who has spent fourteen years living in caves, how about it. Does that appeal you you, even just a little.

Much love, Jed.

Well, I would really enjoy living in the nature and not carrying money. But i will skip the eating grasshoppers and lizzards part. Maybe a place with more wild fruits and vegetables will suit me better? Plus, maybe add a cushion to sleep on.

I like this guy. Not because he is also gay, of course.

When it came to the part he said "i realize all my problems come from all these thoughts", tears came into my eyses. I cried a little bit and i dont know why. Do you know why, Jed?

p.s. Sorry, i cant change this 'why question' to a 'how question' as you always suggest.

Sometimes there is no reason 'why', perhaps even all time.

Love ya, Jed

He had a similar process to get rid of thoughts he didn’t need just like things he didn’t need. I found him very lucid. I realize that fear prevents me from adopting a similar lifestyle, although when I was a child I longed to find a cave to live in. I made a secret fort in our bomb shelter instead.

“He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land.”

The largest insect I have eaten is a lubber grasshopper, which is said to be toxic, but I didn't know and didn't suffer any ill effects. They are huge, slow, fat and colorful.

I tore it in half and I thought that I'd just barely sample it and just gave a little suction. Then the entire contents of the thing were accidentally vacuumed into my mouth and I was thinking "oh man, that is a lot of bug, this is disgusting." But then I calmed myself and tasted it and it was all crab and almonds with zero grassiness, bitterness or anything else objectionable.

Of the handfulls of termites I've eaten and a few dozen june beetle larvae that crabby taste has been a constant.

But I don't eat any of that stuff anymore.

I also feel that the most important teaching of Jesus is that "we should just stop worrying and live like the birds". You can find some real gems in the bible as long as you are willing to reject (a lot of) things that are obviously out of sync with the birds type of teaching.

But that's a whole other teaching of Jesus that one can believe was actually said by him (or some other guru). When they pinned Jesus down and tried to tie him up with religious law he basically asked "who is for what and what is for who? is the law for man or man for the law?" He was basically saying that "the law" should be adopted to the extent that it serves you and if you find that some or all of it doesn't then let it serve you by using the pages of the bible to clean your countertops.

Dear Chinese Girl from across the ocean:

I may not be that far away as I have lived in Cambodia for the past ten years. I have a number of Chinese students in my Navigator Series course. I enjoy interacting with them and I have a pretty good  understanding of  what they go through in life. I love Chinese culture and also am very aware of the complexity of it.

Anyways, enough of my 'stuff'. If you have any question and would like to ask, don't hesitate to write me. If you feel it is a little too 'personal' you can connect with me at cambodianashram@gmail.com.

So, stay healthy and happy, love ya, Jed.

Thought I would check out the forum again after some time.

I definitely feel attraction when watching that. That easy and sober sense, love that. For quite some time I held some fears of being seen as boring, but his lifestyle puts a bit of magic on that which I felt others might interpret as boring. In the meanwhile I've gotten to appreciate that vibe more. Sometimes I'm just sitting in my bedroom and feeling that. I found though I'm not a big fan of cold though, so perhaps no caves for me.

And long time no see Jed, wishing you all the best

Welcome back. Thank you for your thoughtful words, and I too am not a big fan of cold. Sometimes you need to put a sheet over you to keep warm at night, oohhh..... cold(ish). Usually no bedding at all is needed. It's quite a freeing sensation to know that wherever you go, if night comes and you feel tired, you can just crawl up under a tree... have yet to do that, but it would be an interesting experience.

Love ya, Jed.
